Mintax redesign

DHC assisted 360° Multimedia by
redesigning this tax services company website. The client wanted
a feel that showed both their "boutique" business origins and
their big business capabilities. The requirements were simple:
the design should reflect and flow with the current marketing
materials, and there should be a lot of motion. So the "Did You
Know?" facts and background dissolve and rotate through, the
main buttons are all Flash movies which involve the Mintax logo
globe, and the photos in the right diamond also dissolve and
rotate through.

One area of the original site that needed
attention was the navigation. it was not very organized or consistent
throughout the site. There are now five sections below the main
page which contain up to eight subsections each, some of which
have up to three subsections of their own. So the navigation
needed to be a bit more intuitive and easy to navigate. Once
inside one of the top five sections, the left nav bar fills in
with it's subsections. During a subsection rollover, if that
selection has subsections, a text menu pops out to the right.
Also, each main section's page is a list of links and explanations,
guiding the user to the desired information.

In
the site, the images surrounding the main body and behind the
navigation will slide up or down to accommodate the length of
the copy. This ensures that the images will always be framing
the information, just as they are used in the marketing and presentation
materials.
Also,
in some sections, a new "Did You Know?" Flash movie replaces
the Mintax diamonds with information related directly to that
section. This helps to both inform the user and help sell the
Mintax services.

In
a site that contains a lot of information that a user might wish
to print to take offline, it helps to have a print-friendly version
of each page. In the Mintax print-friendly, we have the logo
and the diamonds used in the identity as a header, and the company
contact information as a footer. This ensures that anyone who
reads these sheets and has not seen the website will know what
company is presenting this info, and will still get a feel for
the Mintax identity. There are no background images or colors
to interfere with printing. The rest of the content is formatted
to be easily read.
